Views that make one go Aaaah

And also one that makes one jump on the nearest chair whilst shrieking like a girl!

Big Sweetie celebrates his big 40 on Friday, and will be having a bash at his mom’s B & B down in Port St. Johns on Saturday, with everyone invited to drive down on Friday and leave again on Sunday.

Port St. Johns lies 420kms from Durban, and hubby was notified yesterday that he is booked on the early morning flight on Sunday to Johannesburg, where he will be training staff at City Deep until Friday, 11th June on which day he will then fly directly to Port Elizabeth where he will start training the staff at Koega harbour again.

Sadly, Big Sweetie’s party is going to be a no-no for us. With neither one of us being able to get any time off from work on Friday, and having doctors and dentist check ups brought forward to Saturday, there’s just no way that we will be able to make it. I did suggest that seeing as I have no appointments on Saturday, that I would go to the party on my ownsome and partay the weekend away, but for some inexplicable reason I was given that hairy eyeball look by hubby. Go figure!

So this morning, the trio of Sweeties (Little, Medium and Big) will be stopping off for coffee on the way to the office to wish Big Sweetie for his birthday, give him his gifts and wish him ahead of Friday as he will be on leave then and on Monday as well (lucky devil). Hopefully when he returns to work the following week, we’ll be able to synchronise our diaries and make a confirmed lunch date.

And here are the Aaaaah views I promised you.

Sunrise at the beach in front of Joe Kool’s yesterday morning:

These were taken just after 7am whilst walking for our morning Wimpy coffee.

To the right. In the distance you can see the beginning of the Bluff and the entrance to the harbour.

And, sadly for you lot, I was taught to share. The good, the bad and the ugly.

For those of you (like me) who gril at the sight of goggas and other creepy crawlies, you may want to put your coffee mugs/tea cups safely away.

Big Sweetie sent this to my cell phone last night. While I love my phone with it’s big screen, there are times I wish it had an itty-bitty, teeny weeny little screen.

The python he has been ‘babysitting’ for an East London colleague for the past week. Still a baby, and already 1,3m in length. EEK! And if that’s not enough, he’s babysitting another dozen snakes of different varieties, all of which will be accompanying him and the family to Port St. Johns where his colleague will meet him and take them off his hands. Hopefully not literally.

Have a great day everyone, and remember to look where you’re walking…
